Prime Minister Robert Fico seems to be on a collision course with the president. On Thursday, President Caputova said she would not accept Fico’s candidate for the ministry of the environment, Rudolf Huliak.
Fico expects that the head of state will accept the cabinet without Huliak, and will temporarily entrust one of the new ministers with the leadership of the environmental department.
Then, Huliak can go to the Constitutional Court of the Slovak Republic, said Fico, which will decide whether his non-appointment was in accordance with the Constitution.
