Fico published the names of the six people his party Smer is putting forward as ministers for the departments of Defense, Finance, Foreign Affairs, Agriculture, Justice and Transport.
All the names had been widely expected. Most discussed are the Foreign Minister Juraj Blanar, who is not a career diplomat as all his predecessors were; and Robert Kalinak for Defense, a three-time Interior Minister. He was charged by a Special Prosecutor earlier this year in a case involving bribery and corruption; but the charges were dropped on the orders of the General Prosecutor in August.
