One of the largest producers of heating systems in Europe has chosen eastern Slovakia to build a new plant to manufacture heat pumps. The BDR Thermea Group, based in the Netherlands, currently has 13 production plants in Europe, Turkey and China and employs more than 7,000 people globally. Annual sales are 2.5 billion euros.
The new plant will be built in Vranov nad Topľou. It will start production at the end of next year, and eventually employ 750 people. This is the second high-tech investment this year: German maker of electromotors Winkelmann announced in April that it would build a plant in Rimavská Sobota.
