Premier: Public administration system change in favour of regions needed

In almost any indicator there are relatively large differences between the regions in Slovakia, and the country needs a different system of public administration that would take more account of what people want and could better exploit the strengths of individual regions, said Premier Ludovit Odor. Presenting the so-called white book with proposals for decentralisation, he pointed out that the goal is not to progress towards a federal state. Important aspects are not just financial, but also concerns the distribution of power and responsibilities. Odor added that the presented materials are a good basis for debate, but it will be up to the next government to decide on specific steps politically.
