Three people lost their lives in the village of Liptovská Lúžna (Žilina region), as a man shot dead his former partner and another woman before eventually turning the gun on himself, the news portals noviny.sk and cas.sk reported on Monday evening. According to cas.sk, the other woman was the first victim's sister.
Both were in their 40s. Noviny.sk reported that a daughter and mother were the victims. Speaking to TASR, Radko Moravčík, spokesman for the Žilina Regional Police Corps Directorate, confirmed the three deaths. Police are not currently providing any further information on the case. According to Boris Chmel of the Emergency Medical Service operation centre, upon their arrival, paramedics found three dead bodies. Noviny.sk cited neighbours, some of whom claimed that the 41-year-old man, referred to as Ivan, committed the murders in a jealous rage. Other neighbours believe that money was the motive instead.
