Several personalities and activists are calling on political leaders to clearly distance themselves from violence and similar forms of campaigning. The call Verejnost proti nasiliu 2023 "Public Against Violence 2023" has been signed by a number of personalities from civil society associations and organisations. They fear that signals of acceptance of physical confrontation during the campaign could act as a rallying cry for disaffected voters. They point to an increase in the number of incidents in the current campaign in which politicians have physically clashed with each other or with their supporters. They criticise the fact that instead of distancing themselves from such behaviour, some have actually endorsed it.
