Environment minister at UN climate summit

Environment Minister Milan Chrenko attended the United Nations Climate Change Summit in New York on Thursday. Among the issues discussed were the need to update national energy transition targets and the phasing out of fossil fuels. According to the ministry, the main goal is to accelerate the steps taken by governments, municipalities, businesses and other sectors to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The talks focused on three areas - ambition, credibility and implementation - where the ministry says it's necessary to make fundamental progress.
