€65 million to be spent on fighting poverty

The Labour Ministry plans to spend €65.1 million from EU funds in reducing poverty for the 2014-2020 period. These funds are designed to alleviate extreme poverty which has the greatest social exclusion impact, such as homelessness, child poverty, and food deprivation.

Measures proposed under the operational programme focus on the provision of packages containing food and hygiene goods, as well as hot meals and the distribution of donated food. The draft proposal has been submitted to inter-departmental review.
