Parliament no longer to attempt to convene session on border checks

Parliament will no longer attempt to convene an extraordinary session on the reintroduction of checks at the Slovak-Hungarian border. There weren't enough legislators present in the Chamber to reach quorum even at the second attempt on Wednesday morning. The meeting was initiated by the Smer-SD party. They wanted the government to reintroduce temporary controls at the border with Hungary to prevent the arrival of illegal migrants. Parliament originally attempted to convene the session on Tuesday (September 19).
