State Secretary of the Foreign Affairs Ministry Ingrid Brockova on Tuesday opened a forum to support Slovakia's business opportunities with the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), TASR was told by the ministry's press department. Representatives of dozens of Slovak companies and foreign embassies took part in the forum. "The Latin America and Caribbean region is gaining in geopolitical importance, and at the same time it has a significant economic potential. Today's forum represents an important step towards strengthening business relations. It has ambitious goals, namely to establish further contacts, create new business opportunities and thus contribute to a prosperous future of Slovakia and the LAC region," said State Secretary Brockova. Slovakia mainly exports products of the automotive, engineering and electronic industries to the LAC countries. Brockova identified health-care technologies, the artificial intelligence and energy sectors as areas that need to be focused on in the future.
