Two repeated attempts on Friday to launch a session meant to address the issue of increased illegal migration into the country ended in failure. MPs did not meet a quorum on either attempt. As Parliament failed to launch the session on both Thursday and Friday, Parliamentary Chair Boris Kollar terminated it. The special session was initiated by the Smer-SD party urging Parliament to pass a resolution binding the government to temporarily reintroduce checks on the Slovak-Hungarian border.
