Foreign Police Departments to be closed end of September

The police will close the workplaces of all foreign police departments from Monday, September 11 until September 30. Police Corps Presidium spokeswoman Denisa Bardyova informed on Thursday that the reason is the necessity of fulfilling tasks related to the enormous increase in illegal migration in Slovakia. However, the police will continue to process some groups of foreigners. It's also possible to apply for an exception for submitting an application.

Among the groups of foreigners that the police will handle in September are students entering their first year of high school or university who are already booked in through the reservation system. Furthermore, there are applicants for national visas in the interest of the Slovak Republic, who are already booked in through the reservation system, and applicants for temporary refuge in Slovakia. "All other foreigners who are already booked through the reservation system and there are reasons for special consideration for them, can request by email a relevant directorate of the border and foreign police for the granting of an exception to submit an application. Otherwise, they'll have to re-book a date through the online reservation system," added the spokeswoman.
