The Specialised Criminal Court has decided to revoke a €15,000 fine initially given to Bohus Garbar, who was convicted of spying for Russia. Garbar also received a suspended sentence. However, this decision is not yet final, as the prosecutor has appealed, and the case will now be forwarded to the Supreme Court. Judge Peter Pulman justified the decision by noting that Garbar relies on carer support and lacks the means to pay the fine due to his limited income and assets.
