President to attend Three Seas Initiative Summit

President Zuzana Caputova will attend a summit of the Three Seas Initiative due to be held in Bucharest, said the president's spokesperson Martin Strizinec on Wednesday. The summit will also feature an accompanying business forum, and the Slovak delegation includes Slovak firms. "The purpose of the Initiative is to firm up cooperation between states, particularly when it comes to building north-south connections in fields such as transport, energy and the digital sphere, and that will also be the overarching topic of the talks," added Strizinec.

Formed in 2016, the Three Seas Initiative brings together 12 states situated between three seas: Baltic, Black and Mediterranean. The countries are Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia.
