The Korean company Hyunnam is set to create 250 jobs in the first phase of constructing a plant in Krásno nad Kysucou (Žilina region) and another 500 jobs in the second phase, with the overall investment reaching €12 million, Economy Minister Pavol Pavlis stated at an official opening on Thursday. As well as tapping on the foundation stone, the minister also signed a memo on cooperation with representative of the Korean investor Yong-Bum Park.
“Every such investment is welcomed in Slovakia, especially in regions where each job is so important. The investor has announced that it plans to cooperate with the ministry in other areas as well. We're happy that we've found such an investor”, said Pavlis. Mayor of the town Jozef Grapa stressed that the investment has much more significance than being solely economic. “The fact that the locals have to travel for work outside Kysuce - most frequently to Bratislava and the Czech Republic - being separated from their families for weeks and even months, causes troubles: in relationships, in the rearing of children, and other problems”, said the mayor. The plant is set to produce plastic components and anti-noise material for carmakers Kia and Hyundai.
