Slovakia is set to contribute €20,000 as humanitarian aid to the civilian population of Iraq, Foreign and European Affairs Minister Miroslav Lajčák announced on Thursday.
The money will be given to the International Organisation for Migration, which plays a key role in the monitoring of refugees, in identifying their needs and distributing humanitarian aid, said the ministry's press department. The UN has declared a third-degree emergency due to the humanitarian crisis in areas controlled by Islamists.
