The director general of the University Library in Bratislava Silvia Stasselova has become a member of the global steering committee of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA). "Slovak and previously Czechoslovak librarianship obtained such a position for the first time ever," pointed out the library. Stasselova was given a mandate for 2023-2025. She was the only candidate from the Central and Eastern European region. FLA is the global spokesperson for the library community and sets trends in the development of libraries and their services worldwide. The University Library in Bratislava has been its institutional member for many years.
