A small sports aircraft crashed near the village of Podhorany (district of Nitra) on Tuesday (August 29) evening, Emergency Medical Service's operations centre (OS ZZS) spokesperson Alena Krcova has confirmed for TASR, adding the accident claimed the lives of two people. "Two people were killed in the crash. The rescuers who were sent to the site were unable to help them," said Krcova.
The causes of the tragedy are under investigation.
