European Union foreign policy Chief Catherine Ashton is ready to call a special meeting of foreign ministers as early as this week and is talking to European Union governments about it, her spokesman said on Wednesday.
The meeting is expected to cover the conflicts in Iraq, Ukraine, and Gaza. According to the Reuters news agency, France and Italy have been pressing for this special meeting.
