The Slovak Foreign Affairs Ministry recommends to all Slovaks currently in Iraq including Iraqi Kurdistan to instantly leave the country due to fighting that has been lasting for months with insurgents from the Sunni group Islamic State that have announced the Islamic Khilafat of Iraq and Syria.
“The security situation in most territory of Iraq is critical in the long run without a chance for early stabilisation. Travelling within the whole country is considered life threatening”, reads the ministry’s stance.
