On his Wednesday’s flight over to South Korea, as is customary, Pope Francis sent telegrams to the leaders of the nations over which he flew en route. One of the telegrams was also addressed to the Slovak president Andrej Kiska.
Pope Francis sent cordial greetings to the Slovak president and all the fellow citizens, invoking the blessings of almighty god. He also prayed that peace and well-being may flourish in the nation. Of a special note was the telegram addressed to Xi Jinping, the president of China, as China is one of the few nations that does not maintain diplomatic ties with the Vatican. Moreover, Francis is the first Pope to fly through Chinese air space.
