In the upcoming parliamentary elections in Slovakia this September, entrepreneurs are the most prevalent candidates, with 198 listing their occupation as such. This data comes from the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic (ŠÚ SR), which also reveals that retirees, local leaders, managers, and current parliament members are among those vying for office.

The candidacy pool encompasses a variety of professions, including self-employed individuals, directors, lawyers, project managers, doctors, civil servants, teachers, and educators. The election will involve 24 political parties or movements and one coalition, with a total of 2722 candidates initially registered. Withdrawals from the candidacy process are possible up to 48 hours before the elections on September 30, and the campaign concludes with a 48-hour election moratorium.
