Flood emergencies declared in multiple Slovak towns and villages

Over the weekend, emergencies were declared due to flooding in 35 towns and villages across Slovakia, as announced by the Interior Ministry. 15 of them are still under third-degree flood emergencies. The districts of Roznava and Revuca, eastern and central Slovakia respectively, were the most affected, experiencing heavy torrential rain that led to overflowing rivers, flooding roads, buildings, and basements. Currently, the situation is being brought under control, ongoing rescue efforts are in progress, and the flood emergencies are gradually being lifted.
