Almost 10,000 refugees, mainly from Syria, have been recorded since the beginning of the year in some regions of western and central Slovakia. They unintentionally become stuck in Slovakia. Hungary, from where they come across the common border, does not want to accept them back. The Czech Republic, to which they are trying to cross to get further west, returns them to Slovakia.
