Government Proxy for Roma Communities, Jan Hero, emphasized the importance of commemorating the Roma Holocaust and events from World War II, especially for the young generation, during a ceremony at the Slovak National Uprising Museum in Banska Bystrica. The commemoration brought together numerous guests, including government representatives, foreign diplomats, and local authorities. MEP Peter Pollak highlighted the pernicious impact of Nazism and fascism, while Culture Minister Silvia Hroncova stressed the significance of discussing the Roma Holocaust to understand the consequences of extremism and discrimination.
