316 candidates younger than 21 have applied to join the police in the first month since the minimum age for joining the police was reduced from 21 to 18, the Interior Ministry reported. The amendment which introduced this change came into effect in July 2023. Furthermore, the Interior Ministry reported that a total of 2,023 applications to join the Police Corps have been received since January 2023.
