Unions urge Gov't to end state of emergency

The OZ KOVO labour union has called on politicians and the Government to cancel the state of emergency regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and thus certain restrictions affecting employee claims. As the Unionists point, objective reasons for the prolonged duration of the emergency state are virtually non-existent. "The COVID-19 pandemic as well as the influx of refugees due to the war in Ukraine have been stabilised for several months. Nevertheless, the state of emergency still remains in effect.” OZ KOVO Board Chair Monika Benedekova claimed that certain rights of employees have been restricted under the state of emergency. "But employees are working in a normal mode, without any limitations, hence we see no reason for the continuation of these interventions into the working claims of employees," she underlined.
