Despite fears that conflicts would be sparked between Prime Minister Robert Fico and new President Andrej Kiska, the head of state claims that no such a development has taken place.
“We both feel responsibility for the country and approach our mutual relations accordingly”, President Kiska told the Nový Čas daily. Robert Fico and Andrej Kiska were the two top runners for the post of President in the March elections. Andrej Kiska won the race and became President, while Robert Fico remained in the Premier’s seat. Their political views are also very different. Despite this, Premier Fico and Predient Kiska agreed to meet regularly on a monthly basis. “I have to say that all of our meetings so far have been rather constructive”, claimed the President.
