Slovak land might be sold to citizens from other EU member states, although only under the same terms as with Slovak nationals, meaning that these purchases must be carried out under the same terms and restrictions than those applied to bidders from the Slovak Republic, announces the Ministry of Agriculture and Regional Development.
This means these citizens must also meet the requirements of having three-year-long business involvement or employment in the agricultural sphere in the given town or village. “If the foreign bidder operates the aforementioned activities in a neighbouring village or elsewhere, there's also the requirement of a ten-year stay or seat in the Slovak Republic under the existing law”, specified the Ministry’s spokesperson.
