Help for children from Roma communities

The Ministry of Education launched a call for supporting Roma children aged zero to six, aiming for early intervention with six million euros allocated. The goal is to ensure an equal starting point for all children, enabling them to acquire skills for an easier school transition. The call is open until 25 August, offering €150,000 grants to eligible applicants, mainly non-profit organizations, civil associations, or foundations.

Magdalena Spotakova, a psychologist at the Research Institute of Child Psychology, emphasized preparing schools for diversity, brought by children from marginalised Roma communities. "Early childhood education should bridge the gap between majority and minority children, without unjustly labeling them as mentally disabled," she concluded.
