Slovaks were among those staying in one of the hotels evacuated as a precaution on the Greek island of Corfu. The president of the Slovak Association of Travel Agencies, Roman Berkes, confirmed that all Slovaks were safe and returned to the hotel after the situation calmed down. The evacuation occurred due to precautionary and security reasons, unlike the situation on Rhodes with its strong winds. The Slovak embassy in Greece posted about the fires in Corfu on Sunday evening (23 July), listing affected regions, towns, and villages. Slovak citizens in evacuated areas were advised to follow local authorities' instructions and contact travel agencies on Corfu for safe return information.
