Ingrind Brockova, until now a state secretary at the Foreign Affairs Ministry, will represent Slovakia in the Czech Republic. Jozef Polakovic will be Slovakia's ambassador to Austria, and Jan Soth will represent Slovakia in France, Monaco and Algeria.
The head of state highlighted close relations with the Czech Republic and pointed to the large Slovak expatriate community living there. "I believe that you'll manage to improve contacts with it further and that you'll make use of all the common ties between our countries - be they personal or political ones - during your mission for the benefit of our citizens," Caputova told Brockova.
The President hopes that the ambassador to Austria will succeed in deepening cooperation in the field of the green transition and in education. "We need to speed up the transition to renewable energy sources in Slovakia, and Austria could serve as a model for us in this area. It produces up to 80 percent of its electricity from water, wind and sun, and it has set the ambitious goal of being climate neutral by 2040," stressed Caputova.
Concerning the Slovak ambassador to France, the President hopes that his work will further strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries. "We need it even more to promote common values in our region as well as to defend our interests," she said. She also believes in deepening cooperation in the energy sector and hydrogen technologies.
