Slovakia and Germany want to cooperate in reducing illegal migration, developing the implementation of the European Union's energy and climate policy, and ensuring gas supply security. They also aim to continue defense and political cooperation. This follows from the action plan within the framework of the enhanced dialogue between Slovakia and Germany for the years 2023-2025, which the government took note of during Wednesday's meeting.
The action plan focuses on 12 priority areas that reflect the current challenges and situation in the EU area, as well as the needs of both countries. Both sides have agreed on this plan.
In the field of foreign and European policy, the countries want to focus on a close exchange of views on the rule of law and international politics. In the area of defense, among other things, they plan to continue and expand international coordination on hybrid threats and cyber defense. They have also set several objectives related to the environment, climate protection, culture, science, and education.
The countries also prioritize cooperation in economic, energy, transport, and employment issues. For example, they want to deepen exchanges of information on the development and modernization of the labor market, with a particular focus on new forms of work. The priority areas for Slovak-German cooperation under the action plan also include social cohesion, agriculture, digitalization, and healthcare.
