Health Minister Michal Palkovic has dismissed director-general of the state-owned VsZP insurer. Richard Strapko quit because the action plan to cut costs at the insurance company was not of good quality. According to Palkovic, the insurer was once again in the red and the CEO was responsible for the plan. Palkovic is also concerned about the attitude of some members of the VsZP management. The health minister doesn't believe that the problems can be solved only by injecting additional funds into the sector. He expects the responsible managers to identify problems and come up with solutions. As well as Strapko, the chairman of the board has also been dismissed, although two other board members will remain. Minister Palkovic confirmed that the possible refinancing of the insurance company would also be discussed.
