Slovakia, in concert with other EU members, would like to extend more tangible support to Ukraine in its integration efforts, Slovak Prime Minister Ludovit Odor declared after arriving for a two-day EU summit in Brussels on Thursday. According to the TASR press agency, European leaders will discuss the latest situation in Russia, where the Wagner mercenary group recently came into conflict with the Russian military, and watch a video speech by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
When asked about Slovakia's stance on the disputed use of frozen Russian assets, Odor pointed out that there's a need to distinguish between assets themselves and their yields. "Our position, for the time being, is not to touch the earning assets themselves, but as for the yields, we can envision using them for the benefit of Ukraine," said the prime minister.
