V4 cooperation key in fighting hybrid threats

A cooperation among Visegrad Four countries (V4: Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia) is key in the fight against illegal migration and hybrid threats, Slovak Interior Minister Ivan Simko stated after a meeting of interior ministers from V4 and Austria on Thursday. One of the topics discussed was also the fight against hybrid threats and the concomitant dissemination of disinformation. Simko stated that the issue poses a longstanding challenge to all countries, and the only novelty now is the technology with which disinformation campaigns are disseminated. The ministers concurred that the EU countries have right goals in this context but lack efficient tools. "It's necessary to find a balance between two important values - that of freedom and the safety of the people," said Simko.
