Employees whose employers fail to pay them for several months before disappearing overnight might receive a new form of protection, according to the Pravda daily. They could gain access to money from a special fund set up by state-run social insurance company Sociálna Poisťovňa without paying a special insurance contribution of almost €1,700 in advance as at present.
The change has been included in amendments to the Trading Act and the Act on Competition and Restructuring that are being drawn up by the Justice Ministry and should be introduced as of the beginning of next year. The conditions under which these new rules will apply are still to be defined.
