House Chair Boris Kollar from the We Are Family party does not plan to resign.
Kollar responded this way on Wednesday to calls from several political parties, urging him to step down over his admission that 12 years ago he gave a few slaps to his then-partner who had allegedly endangered their child.
Kollar claimed that he does not defend violence against women, but puts the rights of children first. He reiterated that he would do the same thing again, if someone intended to hurt his child.
On Tuesday (June 20), House Chair Kollar responded to accusations from his ex-partner Barbora Richterova. He perceives them as a politically-motivated attack, aimed at slandering him and his party in the election campaign.
