The upcoming snap general election in Slovakia will cost more than €16.8 million, according to Interior Ministry-sponsored materials that were approved by the government on Wednesday.
In line with the document, a total of €13.687 million will be needed to ensure the preparations and carry out the election, while the Statistics Office will require a further €3.149 million to process the results.
The first sum will be spent mainly on the remuneration of members of election committees, printing of ballots and information documents, ensuring voting from abroad and the protection of public order on election day.
The snap election is set to take place on September 30.
