According to an online survey conducted by the ResSolution Group for the Kariera.sk job website, more than half of people would like to change their field of study. The most common reasons are lack of interest and low salaries. Almost 52 percent of respondents said that if they could change their decision, they would choose a different field of study. The highest number of respondents was among people aged 35-54. Conversely, the lowest number of people who would change their decision are in the 55+ age group. The survey also shows that more than a third of respondents would choose a different field of study today because they are no longer interested in the one they graduated in. More men than women would do this. Almost 42 percent of respondents in the 15-34 age group would choose a different field because of a loss of interest. Younger generations are more eager for career advancement or gaining new experience, so they change their jobs more often. This is a new trend called job hopping. If they don't like it in one place, they have no problem changing jobs. The second most common reason why Slovaks would choose a different field of study is low salaries in the field in which they work. Almost 38 percent of women have a problem with this. Most of them are in the 55+ age group.
