President Zuzana Caputova on Monday visited a folk ensemble called Ruthenia in the Bratislava borough of Petrzalka on the occasion of Rusyn Day in Slovakia. "I felt pride, enthusiasm and belonging here. The Rusyn dances, customs and traditions that I had the opportunity to see and hear are beautiful. They showed me rare folk costumes from a number of villages in Eastern Slovakia, which they keep here from their ancestors," the President posted on a social network. The head of state thanked Ruthenia and all Rusyn cultural organisations, associations and ensembles, that thanks to them the Rusyn culture is viable and makes Slovakia richer.
