Hlas-SD leader Peter Pellegrini rejected cooperation with parties that promote policies based on hatred, extremism and neo-fascism and question Slovakia’s EU and NATO membership.
He added that this also concerns parties that are close to the aforementioned parties and that strive to make them politically acceptable. "We consider [Slovakia's] membership in the European Union and NATO as a guarantee of the free development of our nation," Pellegrini claimed. Meanwhile, the recently announced merger between Hlas and the Dobra Volba party was officially completed at the congress on Saturday, with the former absorbing the latter.
Pellegrini announced in this vein that Dobra Volba leader Tomas Drucker has already joined Hlas as a member and will be among the top ten candidates on Hlas's election slate. The slate will feature approximately 12 candidates from Dobra Volba, said Pellegrini.
