Public trust in independence of judiciary low in Slovakia

Only 33 percent of respondents in Slovakia believe that judges act independently, with Slovaks and Slovak businesses citing pressure from politicians, the government, and special interest groups as the reason, according to a Eurobarometer survey. Slovakia is one of the EU countries with a low level of public trust in the independence of the judiciary.
