The capital city of Bratislava was hit by intense rain on Thursday that has left several streets flooded and the sewer system overburdened despite its regular maintenance, the city authority press department declared. "There were call-outs to at least thirty emergencies, during which water was pumped away from flooded underpasses, cellars, parking lots and garages," informed spokesperson of the Bratislava Regional Firefighter and Emergency Corps Directorate Stefan Koci.
