A team of experts from the World Health Organisation (WHO) will map and evaluate the flow of health data in Slovakia, caretaker Health Minister Michal Palkovic reported at a briefing on Tuesday.
"The goal is basically to look into the soundness of the management of health-care data. We have a lot of information at our disposal, but on the other hand, we see great reserves in the use of these sources of information," said Palkovic.
The Minister explained that the team of experts will map the flow of information and individual processes in the health-care sector over four days. "They will conclude their work in Slovakia with a report that will name the individual parts they identify as problematic," he added. The report, said the Minister, will form the basis for setting up proper financial campaigns and streamlining registers.
"The recommendations that they come up with should, of course, bind processes that we [the caretaker government] have in this short period of time, but also the next government," noted Palkovic, adding that the conclusions will be long term in nature.
