Bratislava-based Volkswagen Slovakia put out its seven-millionth car

Bratislava-based Volkswagen Slovakia plant put out its seven-millionth car on Wednesday (May 31) evening: a VW Touareg heading to China, Volkswagen Slovakia spokesperson Lucia Kovarovic Makayova has told TASR. The Volkswagen Touareg has been manufactured exclusively in Bratislava for the whole world for more than two decades. It is manufactured on the same production line together with two other SUV models: Audi Q7 and Audi Q8. The Bratislava-based plant of VW Slovakia is the first and biggest carmaker to operate in Slovakia. It directly employs almost 11,000 people, while its partner companies and contractors give work to additional thousands of people.
