Topics that are discussed in the European Union have a direct impact on the lives of Slovaks, so they must be given appropriate attention, stressed Prime Minister Ludovit Odor during his meeting with European Parliament (EP) President Roberta Metsola on Tuesday.
One of the topics discussed, therefore, was the options for boosting interest among Slovaks in next year's EP election.
"As a member of the European Union, the Eurozone and Schengen bring us unique possibilities and opportunities to improve the economic and social situation in Slovakia. It's crucial for us to know how to communicate these topics to the public better," said the Premier.
In addition to raising awareness among Slovaks about European affairs, the topics of conversation also included the fight against disinformation and support for Ukraine. In this context, the two officials agreed on the need to persist in supporting Slovakia's eastern neighbour.
The EP president took part in the Globsec international security conference in Bratislava. She was also received by President Zuzana Caputova on Monday (May 29).
