Two new Black Hawk helicopters for the Slovak Army should be delivered to Slovakia in the second quarter of 2025, TASR has learnt from Mária Precner of the Defence Ministry's communications department. The Defence Ministry will pay $61.4 million for the helicopters and the remaining $50 million will be covered under the US fund.
"In line with the schedule, the Defence Ministry will settle the sum in regular instalments between 2022-2028," added Precner. The Slovak government approved the purchase of two UH-60 M Black Hawk helicopters with special operations equipment back in June 2021. A part of the contract are systems and spare parts suitable for helicopters that Slovakia already owns. The project comes at a price tag of $111.4 million. The ministry has bought the helicopters with the use of the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) procurement system.
