Foreign Affairs Ministry recommends Slovaks leave Libya

The Foreign and European Affairs Ministry has issued a warning to Slovak nationals about the critical security situation in Libya, TASR learned from the ministry on Tuesday.

The Libyan Government has lost control over the security situation and armed conflict between hostile militias has swept across the country. Therefore, any stay of foreigners in the country poses a grave danger to their lives. The Foreign and European Affairs Ministry recommends all Slovak citizens in Libya to leave the country without delay and advises against travelling to the country. Limited consular assistance to Slovak citizens in Libya is provided by the Slovak Embassy in Cairo. “In case of emergency, citizens of the Slovak Republic can request consular assistance at any effective Embassy or General Consulate of any EU member state in Libya”, reads the text.
