Gang member sentenced to 12 years jail after plea deal

Richard Rakický, who also goes by the moniker Riki, received a jail sentence of 12 years for membership in a criminal gang known as Sýkora’s Gang and for the murder of Robert Pal back in November 2003. The sentence comes following a plea bargain that Rakický cut with a prosecutor at the Special Prosecutor's Office.

The plea deal was then approved by the Specialised Criminal Court (STS) on Monday and is now valid, TASR learnt from court spokesperson Katarína Kudjáková. Police also pressed charges on three others allegedly involved in the same murder, including the gang's ringleader referred to as Robert L., also nicknamed Kybel (meaning 'Bucket'). The other two were Martin Bihari (nicknamed 'Russian') and Juraj H. (nicknamed 'Darling'). They were all charged with the murder of Pal, who was from the rival Takáč 's gang, following the testimony of Jurij F. (or 'Little Russian'), who was reportedly also involved in the crime. Robert L (known as Bucket) is charged with at least 10 murders and is currently on the run. Bihari (known as Little Russian) has been sentenced to 21 years, but is also on the run. Jurij F. a Juraj H. are in custody pending trial, with police believing that they're behind more crimes.
